What is W.I.N?

Women influencing Nations is a Canadian non profit Charity founded by Dr. Christine Botchway in 2007.

W.I.N has a mission statement, aims, objectives and

The aim of the organization is to inspire communities of Christian women to raise up and influence exceptional leaders from within the youth in Africa whose lives have been affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic by providing funding for higher education training (including specific influential mentoring),. facilitating access to clean water sources and other community projects.


The internal structure of W.I.N works on three principles or pillars
1.Education, of its members on the plight of youth in the face of the HIV pandemic Africa, (Knowledge)
2.Peer support of members via a tri team sponsorship/mentoring program and (Fellowship)
3.Leadership training through participation in the sponsorship/mentoring program (Discipleship training based on teachings of Jesus)

The organization consists of:

The board of directors

There are presently five directors including the founder visionary and president Dr. Christine Botchway, the treasurer Mr. John Williams, the secretary Ms Linda Menon, Mrs. Judy Peterson, and Mrs. Vivien Reske. All board members are active Christians from a wide range of Christian denominations. All Directors are also members.
The board meets twice a year .


Volunteers

Volunteers are invaluable to this organization. Every person in the organization is a volunteer.


The Members

The principles and mission statement of the organization are based on the teaching of Jesus Christ and all members of the organization must be in alignment with the same.

A person may become a member upon concurring with our principles, mission statement, aims and objectives and payment of the $5.oo annual membership fee.

Members will be required to complete an application form affirming their commitment to W.I.N principles.

Participation in the educational/mentoring project requires active participation and commitment to the principles of W.I.N.
Only members are eligible to participate in the mentor/sponsorship of youth.

A group of three persons may sponsor and mentor one youth. The group of mentors must meet regularly to consider the youth in terms of physical spiritual and emotional state and contact youth by web cam /email once a week. As such, a group in the same church would find this required meeting easier. However eligibility is not limited to exclusively tri groups in churches.

All members not participating in the sponsorship/mentoring program may donate funds regularly or as a one time donations to the water and or community projects.

All members will receive peer support, education and leadership training though W.I.N. newsletters, up coming W.I.N. seminars and conferences and concerts.


Donors

A donor does not have to be a member of W.I.N.
Donors wanting to sponsor W.I.N. are welcome to do so regularly or as a one time event directing funds towards the water and community project fund of W.I.N.
